Veterans - Current and Past, Could Use a "Thank You!"

"War is hell" they say.  But most of us have no clear idea of the sacrifices made during war or peace time by our military servicemen and women.  We are helped a little bit by the few movies like Saving Private Ryan that has given those who have never served a better glimpse of just how hellish that can be.  But do we really know?

These soldiers, Marines, sailors and airmen go through brutal and exhausting training, for very little pay and then get fired on by people who want them killed.  It seems that with the many sacrifices they make, we can come up with some ways to show our gratitude for their efforts.

So what can we do?

  • We can hire a vet when they need a job.
  • We can come up with ways to help them or show appreciation - babysit their kids so they can go on a date night with their spouse; mow their yards (especially for our older vets or those who are disabled); if one lives close by, cookies are always welcome.
  • We can say thank you, every chance we get when we see anyone who is currently serving or our favorite vet.
And one way to say thank you for your service and your sacrifice is by putting an emblem in your yard or the cemetery where your favorite vet is buried.

These 29" tall military markers are a simple yet beautiful way to celebrate a life given so that we may all experience the freedom that we cherish. - They can go in your yard, at the cemetery or just about anywhere that makes sense.
