• Does that mean that some companies will lie to you? YES. 
• Might they steal your belongings while they are on your property? Yes.  
• Will they break items or equipment and blame it on a bad part, or the Bakersfield heat, or even blame it on you?  Yes.

OK, perhaps those are worst case scenarios - Here are a few closer to home:

• Be courteous and clean?
• Give you a written estimate that they will stick to unless absolutely impossible to do so?
• Will they return your calls promptly?
• Will they do the work for you week in and week out (if it's an on-going contract)?
• Will they give you a clear understanding of the time it requires to do the work - and stick to it?
• Do they ask you for referrals - HINT: They should! You see, when they do a good job and ask for a referral, it shows that the company has a clear understanding of the value of a contented customer.  Or in other words, their success can be YOUR success when you need them again.

My name is Mark Whyte - I've resided in Bakersfield since 1991 and I care about our community.  I teach for a major Christian University (online) and I also set up marketing plans and websites for local companies - WHOA!! So, you might be thinking, "This guy will only recommend the companies that hire him!"   Well, OK, you got me there...BUT in this case, that also means that the companies I recommend are the companies that are determined to follow MY rules - which are:

Treat customers kindly - Do your work with excellence - Show up on time and return calls and emails promptly - and when you have done so, ask your customer for a referral so that you can continue to grow your business and continue giving great service to your customers! 

You see, you may not know me but, MY reputation is on the line here.  THAT is important to ME, so if the company does a poor job, that means they have let me down as well as you...and THAT is NOT acceptable.  Fair Enough?
